Our client is seeking to recruit for the post of Mechanical Engineer who will report to the Managing Director. The incumbent will be responsible for Sales and Projects, in its area of operations in South East Asia.

Responsibilities:
Manage the sales and marketing efforts of the company by attending sales meetings and presentations with customers and consultants, as well as exhibitions and seminars in the sales area.
Manage sales to expand its market share through key marketing strategies and improving customer relations.
Act as the sales representative whenever customer delegations visit.
Evaluate requirements from potential customers and from these prepare engineered solutions.
Prepare customer proposals for tender which may include: general arrangement drawings, basic level technical information, pricing schedules, basic commercial information, feedback on contractual terms and conditions.
To use his own expertise and experience to compile the necessary proposals for the customer.
To keep up date with information regarding new equipment, technologies, mining methods etc. and in this regard will provide advice to customers regarding the layout and equipment options within in their mine.
Enhance the company culture of a close family business within overseas sales operations, so that their involvement is not perceived as being just a job, but rather as potential for a good with a caring, focused company.
Provide all strategic advice and contributions to enhance the growth of the business and hence profits, all while upholding company's long-standing reputation in the marketplace.
Any other additional duties relevant to your role as necessitated by the needs of the business.

what you need to know

Profile:

Degree in relevant area such as Mechatronics / Mechanical / Engineering qualifications.
Experience relating to Engineering metals, heat treatments, mining operations and manufacturing processes would also be an advantage.
Experience in rotating equipment and have good general knowledge in the areas of power transmission, industrial gearing, rolling element bearings and lubrication.
Knowledge and experience of tender submission would also be useful but not mandatory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are critical.
Customer focused approach.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Have an eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage their own time and work independently with minimal supervision.
Undergo a period of training and equipment familiarisation in South Africa.
Overseas travel will be an essential requirement for this post.
