Our client, a technology solutions provider, in the Indian Ocean Islands and in East Africa is seeking to recruit a dynamic Accountant who will ensure the consistency of providing accurate financial reporting, in compliance with regulations and as per IFRS Standards. The Accountant shall be tasked with preparing and analysing the monthly management accounts, financial statements, conducting audits, managing the accounting dept, and providing strategic financial advice to support decision-making processes. He shall also play a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities, supporting budgeting and financial planning, and maintaining the integrity of financial records. The accountant shall have a proven track experience and capable of paying attention to details which are essential for safeguarding the organisation's financial reporting and decision making.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review monthly management accounts.
Prepare quarterly consolidated accounts.
Reconcile inter company accounts.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Monitor cashflow.
Ensure compliance with Tax and other regulatory authorities.
Manage the day-to-day of the accounting dept.
Assist auditors in the finalisations of yearly financial statements.
Conduct ad-hoc audits and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Manage accounts payables and receivables.
Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction.
Assist with budgeting and financial planning processes.
Providing financial advice and support to management.

what you need to know

Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
Minimum 5 years proven track experience in accountant function.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. ZohoBooks, QuickBooks,).
Strong understanding of financial and IFRS standards.
Strong understanding of Tax regulations and reporting.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
