Our client in the agricultural sector is seeking to recruit a dynamic Garage and Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. The Garage and Facilities Maintenance Coordinator schedules and oversees the maintenance and repair of all garage equipment, as well as all infrastructure, and all green areas. The Garage and Facilities Maintenance Coordinator ensures that all the machinery and equipment used for farming operations are in good working condition and comply with safety standards, that the buildings are maintained, and the green spaces are upkept. The Garage and Facilities Maintenance Coordinator also follows the inventory of spare parts, supplies, and fuel, and coordinates with external vendors and contractors as needed. The Garage and Facilities Maintenance Coordinator works closely with the production team and reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment, such as tractors, cultivators, planters, sprayers, and other vehicles and tools.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
Ensure that all machinery and equipment are in compliance with safety and environmental regulations and standards.
Monitor the inventory of spare parts, supplies, and fuel.
Schedule and supervise the maintenance of the properties, building, estate houses, equipment, machinery and infrastructure on the estate.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services, such as welding, fabrication, painting, or calibration.
Keep accurate and updated records of maintenance and repair activities, costs, and warranties.
Inspect and maintain the facilities and infrastructure of the garage, workshop, and storage areas.
Recommend and implement improvements and upgrades to the machinery, equipment, and facilities as needed.
Schedule and supervise the maintenance of the house yards, river borders and other green areas.
Schedule and supervise the regular pest control applications around the houses and yards - mosquito fogging, rodent control, etc.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards and regulations.
Monitor and report on the performance, efficiency and productivity of the facility operations.
Identify and implement opportunities for improvement, innovation and cost reduction.
Liaise and collaborate with the production team as a service provider, as well as the CEO, stakeholders and external parties on facility-related matters.

what you need to know

Profile:

School Certificate /Higher School Certificate; Technical training in mechanics, engineering, or related field preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in maintaining and repairing farm machinery and equipment, or similar heavy-duty vehicles and tools.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
Computer literacy with demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft programs, with advanced skills in formulating spreadsheets using Microsoft EXCEL.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which includes fluency in English and French.
Technical skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills and people's management skills.
Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Proficiency in using various hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding and fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations and standards applicable to farm machinery and equipment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record; CDL or other relevant certification preferred.
