Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking to recruit a Finance Manager who will report to the Managing Director. The role provides the opportunity to be a part of a growing multi-national organisation looking after the accounting for two small, but growing subsidiaries in the group; one in Mauritius and one in Madagascar.

Responsibilities:

Full invoicing and accounts receivable cycle.
Full purchases and accounts payable cycle.
Full production and inventory management cycle.
All including but not limited to:

- Invoice/Receipt entry onto sage
- Payment of Invoices
- Raising and issuing Invoices
- Issuing of AR statements to regional offices
- New account, cost and inventory codes set up in Sage X3
- Raising Purchase Order and Delivery Notes
- Recharges to regional offices
- Credit notes
- Statement recons and
- Performing and managing inventory counts

Petty cash: Weekly/monthly reconciliation, posting journal entries to Sage.
Rebates and listing fees: do the monthly calculations, reporting and accounting for rebates and listing fees making use of internal sales systems and liaising with marketing and group and other finance teams where needed.
Foreign currency: restating foreign balances at month end spot rates.
Prepare and submit all routine taxation related returns and payments.
Maintenance of fixed asset register.
Maintenance of lease register.
Reconciliation of bank accounts and cash book, credit card receipts and statement reconciliation, processing and payment of staff expenses, VAT receipt submission, posting payments and expenses to Sage, account balances are to be reconciled in Sage.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts including intercompany reconciliations and confirmations with counterparties within the group.
Prepare monthly set of management accounts (vs budget) with commentary for both entities. These will be reviewed internally by the managing director and submitted to the Group Finance team.
Manage and prepare the annual budgets for the head office entities for which you are responsible.
Monitor monthly expenditure to ensure it remains within budget.
Monitor balances across bank accounts.
Create and monitor that the appropriate internal controls exist for both entities.
Prepare payment listing for approval, load and release payments, verify new banking details, maintain banking records and signatory updates etc.
Undertake the appropriate cashflow forecasting for each entity.
Provide necessary schedules and information to tax consultants and manage their role in completing all taxation commitments for both companies.
Manage the payroll function for the two entities - this is currently outsourced.
Manage the annual external auditor with the company's auditors.
Other ad hoc tasks and duties when or as the need arises.

what you need to know

Profile:

Minimum B.Com in accounting.
A minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferably at a manufacturing business.
Sage experience would be advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Exposure to working with foreign currencies would be advantageous.
